The Candle Festival of Ubon Ratchathani, which has been celebrated for approximately 114 years, embodies the spirit, lifestyle, and culture of the people of Ubon. During the candle-making period, villagers come together to prepare, mold, and carve the candles, fostering a deep passion for this unique tradition that reflects the way of life in Ubon Ratchathani. Inspired by the art of candle making and recognizing Ubon Ratchathani as the City of Candles, local artisans have created fragrant candles as a community-based product. Utilizing various herbs, these candles are designed not only to benefit the community but also to generate income for local residents.
